Child Labor
08/12/09 — The Alabama Child Labor poster was updated to reflect the recently signed legislation that reforms Alabama's child labor enforcement standards and transfers the work permit process from the public school system to the Alabama Department of Labor. The new legislation also replaces child work permits with business certificates and allows the department of labor to issue civil money penalties and/or prosecution for any violation of the law.

Alaska
Minimum Wage
07/22/09 — The Alaska Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage was increased to $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009 and $7.75 an hour effective January 1, 2010. This is a mandatory change.

Arizona
E-Verify and Right to Work
01/20/10 — The Department of Homeland Security recently updated its E-Verify Administration Manual. Arizona Employers with the English kit are now required to also post the E-Verify and Right to Work posters in Spanish.
Fair Employment (Bilingual)
12/16/09 — The Arizona Fair Employment poster has been updated to reflect an additional protected category under Arizona's Anti-Discrimination laws. The state also prohibits discrimination in employment on the basis of results of genetic testing.
Work Exposure to MRSA, Spinal Meningitis or TB
07/27/09 — Arizona has released a new mandatory poster that gives employees information on claims relating to work exposure to MRSA, spinal meningitis or tuberculosis.

Arkansas
Minimum Wage
12/22/09 — The Arkansas Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect a change to the Wage Collection Act. The Arkansas Department of Labor now assists employees in collecting wages up to a maximum of $2,000. The previous amount was $1,000.
Arkansas Sale of Alcohol to Minors - RESTAURANT INDUSTRY SPECIFIC
10/12/09 — The Arkansas Warning Notice Alcohol to Minors poster was updated to reflect that the penalty for providing alcohol to persons under 21 was increased from a class C to a class A misdemeanor.
Minimum Wage
07/06/07 — The Arkansas Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect a change to the minimum wage rate for gratuities and specific exemptions were updated.

California
Workers' Comp — English and Spanish
08/20/10 — The California Workers' Compensation poster has been updated to reflect extensive changes made due to recently amended Medical Provider Network (MPN) and employee information regulations. Some additional rewording was also made to the poster. Employers are required to update this "Notice to Employees" poster by October 8, 2010 to comply with the amended regulations.
OSHA
03/03/10 — The California OSHA poster has been updated to reflect additional information for employees. The California Department of Industrial relations added a free worker information hotline phone number to the poster and made address changes to the headquarter and district offices.
Whistleblower Hotline — Public Sector Only
07/08/09 — The California Whistleblower Hotline (Public Sector) poster was updated to reflect reporting of additional improper activities. The California State Auditor, Bureau of State Audits has added "any suspected misuse of Recovery Act funds" to their list of reporting improper activities. The agency has also reformatted, reworded and resized the poster to 8.5 X 11.

Colorado
Minimum Wage English
12/14/09 — The Colorado Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect the state minimum wage for 2010. The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment has decreased the current state minimum wage rate from $7.28 an hour to $7.24 an hour effective January 1, 2010. The poster does make it clear that if an employee is covered by both state and federal minimum wage laws, the law which provides a higher minimum wage or sets a higher standard will apply. The tipped employee minimum wage has also been decreased from $4.26 to $4.22 an hour.
Unemployment Insurance (Bilingual)
10/09/09 — The Colorado Unemployment Insurance poster was updated with information regarding the right to be properly classified as an employee. A new law permits any person to file a written complaint with the state's Department of Labor and Employment alleging an employer is misclassifying an employee as an independent contractor. The poster was updated with information on who to contact, the complaint process available to an employee and the fines for first offense. The poster was also updated with new phone numbers and other minor changes.
Minimum Wage
12/01/08 — The Colorado Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage will increase to $7.28 an hour effective January 1, 2009. The minimum wage for tipped employees will also increase to $4.26 an hour effective January 1, 2009.

Child Labor — Mercantile
03/12/09 — The Connecticut Child Labor (Mercantile) poster was updated to reflect the new state minimum wage rates. District of Columbia
Minimum Wage
07/10/08 — The District of Columbia Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase to the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage will increase to $7.55 an hour effective July 24, 2008 and to $8.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The poster was also updated with information about the District of Columbia's new Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Act of 2008, which requires employers to provide paid leave to employees for illnesses and absences associated with domestic violence or sexual abuse. The poster was also updated with information about the Living Wage Act of 2006 and the Enhanced Professional Security Amendment Act of 2008. The state also added the address for the Department of Employment Services to the poster.
Fair Employment
03/06/2007 — The District of Columbia Fair Employment poster was updated to reflect two new protected categories that the District approved and the Mayor signed into law last year. These categories are "gender identity or expression" and "genetic information." The District also consolidated their fair employment, parental leave, and family and medical leave posters into one poster.

Florida
Minimum Wage (English and Spanish)
11/13/09 — The Florida Minimum Wage poster has been updated with information regarding the 2010 Florida minimum wage. The poster now clarifies that Florida minimum wage is recalculated yearly on September 30 based on the Consumer Price Index but in 2009 the new federal minimum wage took effect. In deciding whether the federal or state minimum wage applies, federal law dictates that businesses must pay the higher of the two. The federal minimum wage will prevail over the state until such time as the Florida minimum wage becomes higher than the federal rate.
Minimum Wage — (English and Spanish)
07/30/09 — The Florida Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect the new federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The minimum wage for tipped employees also increased to $4.23 an hour plus tips. The new federal minimum wage rate will be in effect until the Florida minimum wage rate (recalculated on September 30 based on the Consumer Price Index and effective every year on January 1) exceeds the federal rate.
Minimum Wage — (English and Spanish)
10/22/08 — The Florida Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage will increase to $7.21 an hour effective January 1, 2009. On July 24, 2009, the state minimum wage will be replaced with the federal minimum wage rate of $7.25. The minimum wage rate for tipped employees will increase from $3.77 to $4.19 effective January 1, 2009.

Workers' Compensation Part 3
08/09/07 — The Georgia Workers' Compensation Part 3 poster was updated to reflect an increase in the maximum weekly income benefit from $450 to $500 and an increase in the temporary partial disability benefit from $330 to $334 per week.

No Smoking
12/14/2006 — Hawaii passed a law that prohibits smoking in essentially all enclosed workplaces. Employers are required to post "no smoking" signs. The signs must read "smoking prohibited by law" or show the international "no smoking" symbol.

05/19/06 — Informs employees of their rights to be notified of possible layoffs or terminations due to certain business transactions taken by their employer. This is a new poster.

Minimum Wage (Spanish)
06/22/09 — The Illinois Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum will increase to $8.00 an hour effective July 1, 2009 and $8.25 an hour effective July 1, 2010. The poster was also renamed and reformatted and now includes the Equal Pay Act and the Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act posters which used to be separate posters. The poster was also updated with additional information on child labor and unpaid wages.

02/16/09 — The Illinois No Smoking poster has been updated to reflect that smoking in prohibited within 15 feet of any entrance to a place of employment. The poster was also updated to reflect the new Governor, Pat Quinn.

Indiana
Minimum Wage
07/29/09 — The Indiana Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect a change to the minimum wage posting requirement for employers. A new law was passed requiring employers to post a single page poster providing employees notice of the following information; the current Indiana minimum wage, an employee's basic rights under Indiana's minimum wage law, and contact information to inform an employee how to obtain additional information from or to direct questions or complaints to the Indiana Department of Labor. The Indiana minimum wage law also prohibits pay discrimination on the basis of sex.
Child Labor
07/10/09 — The Indiana Child Labor poster was updated to reflect some rewording and clarification of the Teen Work Hour Restrictions. The Indiana Department of Labor, Bureau of Child Labor updated the poster to clarify hour restrictions for 16 and 17 year olds and general break and hour restrictions. This is a mandatory change.
Minimum Wage
08/06/08 — The Indiana Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect that tipped employees must receive at least $9.83 an hour for all hours worked over 40 in a work week. The state also removed the 2007 minimum wage of $5.85 from the poster. The poster now only reflects the current minimum wage of $6.55 an hour and $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The state also added Indiana Code Title 22, Chapter 2 to the poster.

OSHA
02/03/09 — The Iowa OSHA poster was reformatted to make it easier for employees to understand their rights to a safe and healthy workplace. The poster was also updated with a new phone number and web address for the Iowa Division of Labor Services and a new address for the Iowa U.S. Department of Labor.
No Smoking
06/12/08 — Iowa recently passed a law that prohibits smoking in essentially all enclosed workplaces. Employers are required to post "no smoking" signs. The signs must contain the telephone number for reporting complaints and the internet site for the Iowa Department of Public Health. No smoking poster must be posted at every entrance to a place of employment. Employers can either post it on door or window that is visible to the outside.
Fair Employment
05/16/08 — The Iowa Fair Employment poster was updated to reflect that employees now have 300 days to file a discrimination complaint with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission.

No Smoking
05/05/10 — The Kansas No Smoking sign has been updated to reflect the new Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act which takes effect July 1, 2010. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Indoor Clean Air Division has created a specific poster for workplaces, bars and restaurants indicating that smoking is prohibited by state law.

OSHA
10/11/07 — The Kentucky OSHA poster was updated to reflect that employers must now report incidents resulting in an amputation or the in-patient hospitalization of one or two employees within 72 hours.
Unemployment Insurance
09/13/07 — The Kentucky Unemployment Insurance poster was updated with additional information. The poster now includes a statement that an individual must be unemployed through no fault of their own to qualify for benefits. A new section was added to the poster that advises employees who are eligible for workers' compensation benefits that they may be able to use their wages before an injury occurred to qualify for unemployment benefits. In addition, the revised poster now advises workers who are working less than their full-time hours that they may be eligible for partial benefits because of lack of work due to work-related medical restrictions.

08/05/10 — The Maine Workers' Compensation poster has been updated to reflect that it is against the law for employers to misclassify employees as independent contractors for the purpose of avoiding workers' compensation insurance, unemployment coverage, or other employer paid taxes and withholdings.

10/07/09 — The Maine Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect a clarification on the exemption for camp counselors, junior counselors-in-training at camps and employees under the age of 18 employed at organized camps. The poster was also updated with information regarding discrimination against an employee for inquiring about, disclosing, comparing or discussing the employee's wages with others.
Regulation of Employment
10/07/09 — The Maine Regulation of Employment poster was updated with information regarding severance pay and nursing mothers. Businesses that have 100 or more employees at a single location may have to provide severance pay to employees if that business location closes or has a mass layoff. In addition, nursing mothers must be provided with unpaid break time or be permitted to use their paid break or meal time to express milk.

Minimum Wage
06/30/09 — The Maryland Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage was increased to $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The minimum wage employers must pay tipped employees also increased to $3.63 an hour effective July 24, 2009.

Michigan
No Smoking
04/08/10 — Michigan's new Smokefree Air law prohibits smoking in essentially all enclosed workplaces. The law requires employers to post no smoking signs.
Minimum Wage
02/05/09 — The Michigan Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect the minimum wage rate effective July 24, 2009 of $7.40 an hour (85% of the minimum wage rate will be $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009). The previously posted minimum wage rates effective September 1, 1997 and October 1, 2008 have been removed from the poster. The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth has been renamed to the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth.

Workers' Compensation
09/14/09 — The North Dakota Workers' Compensation poster was updated to reflect an increase in death benefits and clarification on the assistance offered by the Decision Review Office. The North Dakota Workforce Safety and Insurance has designated that survivors receive 2/3 of the deceased worker's gross weekly wages, up to a maximum of 125% of the state's average weekly wages with total benefits not to exceed $300,000. Funeral expenses are payable up to $10,000.

06/28/08 — The North Dakota Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect that the minimum direct wage payable to a tipped employee is $4.39 an hour effective July 24, 2008 and $4.86 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The poster was also updated to only reflect the minimum wage rate and tip credit effective on July 2008 and July 2009. The 2007 minimum wage information was removed from the poster.

07/09/09 — Ohio Governor recently signed an executive order creating the Barbara Warner Workplace Domestic Violence policy. Under the new executive order, state agencies are required to post a list of domestic violence resources for employees, adjust employees' duties or assignments when domestic-violence issues arise, grant leave requests for victims and take action against employees identified as perpetrators. This new poster provides a list of domestic violence resources for employees. This is a mandatory change.

The Oklahoma Department of Labor Employment Standards Division has reduced the size of the poster from 11" x 17" to 8.5" x 11" as reflected in S.B. 527, effective November 1, 2009. Pennsylvania
No Smoking
08/27/08 — Pennsylvania recently passed the Clean Indoor Air Act, which prohibits smoking in essentially all enclosed workplaces except for a few specifically named exceptions. Beginning on September 11, 2008, smoking is not allowed in public places or workplaces. The law requires employers to post no smoking signs.
Radiation Notice to Employees
07/16/08 — The Pennsylvania Radiation Notice to Employees was updated to reflect that employees must report immediately to their supervisor or the Department of Environmental Protection if they observe a violation or possible safety concern. The poster was also updated to state that employees may be personally subject to enforcement action if through deliberate misconduct an employee causes or attempts to cause a violation or deliberately provides inaccurate or incomplete safety information to their employer or the Department of Environmental Protection.

07/10/07 — In addition to the Federal Minimum Wage posting change, the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage for small employers (those who employ 10 or fewer full-time workers). The minimum wage was increased to $6.65 an hour effective July 1, 2007, $7.15 an hour effective July 1, 2008, and $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The poster was also updated to reflect an increase in the 60-day youth training wage. It will increase to $5.85 an hour on July 24, 2007 and to $6.55 an hour on July 24, 2008. The state also added the 2009 minimum wage rate to the poster.

Smoke-Free Workplace
07/09/09 — The Vermont Smoke-Free Workplace poster was updated to reflect the state's new 2009 Smoking in the Workplace law. Vermont recently amended its Smoking in the Workplace law to prohibit smoking inside all areas of the workplace. Prior to this amendment, the law allowed employers to designate smoking areas if they obeyed certain rules. Now the law requires all indoor areas of workplaces to be 100% smoke-free. The Vermont Department of Health revised the poster to reflect the new 2009 smoke-free law. The state also made this poster a recommended poster. This is a mandatory change.

No Smoking — Industry Specific for Restaurants
12/16/09 — Virginia recently passed a law that prohibits smoking in essentially all restaurants that are open to the public. The new law requires employers to post "no smoking" signs and to remove all ashtrays and other smoking paraphernalia from all areas of the restaurant where smoking is prohibited.

06/22/09 — Virginia employers are required to post a new poster from the Virginia Department of Social Services regarding earned income tax credits.
