The Heat Is On: Help Employees Stay Safe in Extreme Climate Conditions
08/03/07
Summer is here. And it’s hot. As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat-related illness for your employees who work outdoors. Help protect your employees by training them how to prevent heat-related injury and illness.
The two most common forms of heat-related illnesses are heat exhaustion and the more severe, heat stroke. Symptoms can include fatigue, nausea, dizziness, profuse sweating, irritability and confusion. The ability to recognize and react quickly to these warning signs can make the difference between life and death.
In California, keeping employees aware of the dangers of heat-related illnesses is the law – the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to share information about heat-related conditions. It’s highly recommended that supervisors in other states share this critical information with their employees. Doing so can reduce workers’ comp. claims and increase productivity.
To help protect your employees, G.Neil presents the ComplyRight™ Extreme Heat Condition Bundle. It contains posters and distributable notifications with information on heat-related illnesses and symptoms that will help your employees keep themselves safe.
