Take Advantage of Tuesday

03/05/07

Getzler & Company, a New York-based company specializing in crisis management and turnarounds, surveyed 230 executives to find out on which days they got the most done. The winner is Tuesday. No surprise, Friday is the least productive as managers set their sights on the weekend. Coming in second to last in the productivity race is Wednesday, which president Joel Getzler termed a “follow-through day.” Thursday seems to be productive because no one wants to leave a lot of work for Friday.

Practical tips? Get things moving early in the week, don’t schedule important meetings for Friday, and leave people to motivate themselves on Thursday.
