Correctly Verify Employment Eligibility with the New Form I-9
As of April 3, 2009, all employers are required to use the new mandatory Form I-9.
The Form I-9 has been updated to meet new employment verification regulations established by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Employees may now only present unexpired documents to verify their employment eligibility. In addition, numerous documents have been added and removed from the list of acceptable documents on the Form I-9.
